WKU Women’s Basketball will take on Florida International University Thursday in its first of two road games to end the regular season.
The Lady Toppers currently sit in third place in Conference USA with a record of 12-4 with just two games remaining. WKU has won four straight, most recently dominating New Mexico State 85-68 last Saturday.
Senior guard Alexis Mead had her fifth game over 20 points against NMSU, totaling 23 points, six rebounds, and eight assists. Mead is having a career year, averaging 13.8 points and four assists this season.
“Pound-for-pound she’s the toughest kid in the conference,” Head Coach Greg Collins said.
FIU sits seventh in the conference after a win at Jacksonville State on Saturday. The Panthers defeated the Lady Toppers earlier this season at Diddle Arena 80-79.
The Panthers are led by senior forward Isnelle Natabou, who averages 14 points and seven rebounds while shooting nearly 68% on the season. Natabou totaled 10 points and eight rebounds against the Lady Toppers in January.
