The new Gordon Ford College of Business building’s construction is currently set to be finished by the end of July, Chief Facilities Officer Bryan Russell said.
Russell said he does not currently have a date in August that the building will open to the public, but it will open before fall classes start on Aug. 18. The 131,000-square-foot and $99.4 million building broke ground on June 14, 2023, just over two years ago.
Faculty and staff from Cherry Hall are planned to move into Grise Hall, the current business building, due to upcoming renovations in Cherry Hall starting fall 2025.
Grise Hall recently received a temporary chiller system due to HVAC failure in the building caused by extreme weather at the end of May.
Russell said the chiller system is currently operational and WKU Planning, Design and Construction are actively looking to identify a permanent solution.
