WKU Housing and Residence Life sent a timeline Friday for the A/C repair to residents of Pearce Ford Tower.
The email sent to residents said, “contractors have shared an anticipated timeline for the temporary chiller arrival and installation.”
According to the email from HRL, “the temporary chiller will arrive to campus on Monday, August 25th” and will be put next to the trash compactor outside of the building. A temporary trash receptacle will be placed on the opposite side of the building for residents while the chiller is in place.
The email said technicians will be working this week to test the temporary chiller and the connections to the hall’s systems.
“Brief interruptions to electricity and water may be necessary on Wednesday and/or Thursday to integrate the two systems,” HRL said.
HRL said it “will work closely with contractors to learn if and when coordinated outages may occur and will communicate those planned outages to students as quickly as possible.”
The email also said that this timeline is only an estimate, so it may be subject to change, and updates will be provided as they become available.
If students need further assistance, they can reach the PFT Hall Directors Melanie Lucas and Abigail Estep at (270)799-0551 for HVAC concerns.
