WKU Volleyball advances past Jacksonville State in C-USA Tournament

WKU Volleyball(1) swept Jacksonville State(8) 3-0  in the first game of the C-USA Tournament in Lynchburg, Virgina. As the conferences’ one-seed, the Hilltoppers now hold a 27-4 season record and continue their win streak at 22 games. 

WKU won each set 25-12; 25-15; and 25-17, respectively. Over the three sets, the Hilltoppers averaged a .386 hitting percentage, 40 kills and 88 total attempts.

Fifth year outside hitter Paige Briggs posted 11 kills for WKU. Junior outside hitter Kaylee Cox was close behind with 10 kills.

Redshirt sophomore setter Callie Bauer led the team in assists with a total of 27. Freshman middle hitter Gabby Weihe acquired four blocks in the game.

Additionally, redshirt sophomore defensive specialist Kelsey Brangers had 13 digs in the match. This was Brangers first double digit match since October. 

WKU will return to the court Nov. 18 at 10a.m. CST in Lynchburg, Virginia to face University of Texas at El Paso(4) in the C-USA semifinals.
