WKU Women’s Basketball will be back inside Diddle Arena Saturday to take on the 9-12 (3-7) Jacksonville State Gamecocks.
WKU is coming off an impressive 78-57 win against Kennesaw State Thursday, sweeping the season series against the Owls.
The last time the Lady Toppers and JSU met this season was in the midst of the Lady Toppers’ six-game win streak. WKU defeated the Gamecocks on the road 51-44.
The Lady Toppers will have to find different ways to score with the suffocating 3-point defense from JSU. The Gamecocks have held opponents to just 24% from beyond the arc which is first in CUSA.
“They do a great job of guarding the 3-point line, they are about fourth in the nation in three-point percentage defense, so they don’t give a lot of good looks,” Head Coach Greg Collins said.
WKU will be led by senior guard Alexis Mead averaging just over 13 points a game, along with leading the team in assists with 4.1 a contest.
The game is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
