WKU Women’s Basketball 17-7(8-4) will head to Huntsville, Texas to take on the 12-11(5-8) Sam Houston State Bearkats on Thursday, Feb. 20 for the Lady Topper’s second game in their three-game road stretch.
WKU is coming off a tough 73-63 loss to rival Middle Tennessee State on Saturday. The Lady Toppers were led by junior forward Zsofia Telegdy who scored 20 in the loss. She became the third player to put up 20 or more points in the last three games for the Lady Toppers.
“Really it speaks to all their work off the court, in practice and individuals, so they continue to reach certain goals they have each week with shooting and that gives them the confidence,” Head Coach Greg Collins said in his weekly press conference Tuesday.
SHSU has found their footing recently, winning three of their last four games. The Bearkats are coming off a 65-53 win against Kennesaw State. SHSU is led by redshirt junior forward Deborah Ogayemi who averages 12 points a contest.
WKU took an 82-49 win against the Bearkats in their last meeting on Jan. 25.
The game is set for 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
