The WKU Police Department is investigating a shots-fired incident that occurred near main campus outside the Kappa Alpha Fraternity house early Friday morning.
WKUPD Captain Paul Burden told the Herald that shots were fired around 2:10 a.m. at 1349 College Street. At 3:20 a.m., a WKU alert was sent out warning everyone to stay away from the area. A message followed at 3:22 a.m., announcing that the scene was safe.
According to the initial message, the suspect vehicle is a gray GMC Sierra. In a video posted to WKUPD social media, a man in a white t-shirt and black shorts is seen pointing a gun in the air and firing before leaving the scene.
“We’re actively working with the local drug task force, city, county, state police to try to locate this subject,” Burden said.
