Hilltoppers celebrated the season together with a variety of fall festivities Monday night.
The Campus Activities Board held its annual Fall Festival in the Downing Student Union Nite Class. Attendees painted mugs or canvases, made slime, decorated caramel apples, drank hot chocolate, or ate other fall treats like cookies and popcorn.
Lia Whitfield, senior management major and the CAB senior activities coordinator, said this is CAB’s second year doing the Fall Festival.
Whitfield said her favorite part of this event is seeing everyone come together and talk with friends. She said it’s good for students to get out, meet new people and do something fun.
“It’s about the holidays and coming together,” Whitfield said. “It’s doing something fun with your friends, people that you know, and of course, having hot chocolate. Who doesn’t like hot chocolate?”
Na’Shiaya Wilson, junior nursing major, made slime for her first time at the event. Wilson said her favorite part of the event was the hot chocolate and conversations she had with old and new friends.
“I came to just seek out new activities and get out of my house really,” Wilson said.
Orion Armstrong, junior sports management major, painted a mug while he waited for the caramel apple station to open. He said he enjoys painting, but he hasn’t been able to much since he’s been in college.
Armstrong said this event was a great way to spend his free time, and his favorite part was decorating a caramel apple.
“It’s just good for socializing,” Armstrong said. “You get to meet people, hang around your friends and do something you can do in your free time.”
