In a 76-21 vote, Kentucky’s House of Representatives approved the amended bill on Feb. 27, and the Senate Standing Committee on State and Local Government planned to discuss the bill on Monday.

Louisville senior Jay Wells has experienced issues finding an affordable place to live in Bowling Green as rent costs soar. "If you're a working class person and you're living in an area in which the college is constantly expanding, rent's going up, you have to have a roommate, and deposits are so high. Crisler is reading to students to start off the Creative Writing reading series in cherry hall in room 125. He starts off  the poetry reading with his latest book the  Grey Album with the poem Living in Grey. Crisler got into poetry in the fourth grade and started to get serious in the 90s about publishing.

A sample of mold which covered the inside of the HVAC unit in freshman Adriana Qehaja’s dorm room in Bemis Lawrence Hall. Qehaja said she took the sample as proof of what she saw when maintenance came to replace her dorm room’s HVAC unit. Qehaja moved into Bemis Lawrence Hall in June and experienced many symptoms she attributes to the mold.  “I just want to live in a clean environment,” Qehaja said.

English Professor Mary Ellen Miller has been with WKU for 54 years and is now in transitional retirement. She is continuing to teach but is using her newly found free time to write a book of poetry. Miller said she intends to continue teaching as long as she can or "as long as they'll have me."

David Brinkley, director of educational telecommunications, will become the next staff regent at WKU, effective July 1. He won by three votes in a second "run-off" election for the position against Greg Hackbarth, director of the enterprise systems department. “I took stock in how I wanted to contribute to the university,” Brinkley said on his decision to run for the position. “I want to make the time count.”

Through an open records request, Andrew Henderson, former Herald editor, requested “any payments, including amounts and services rendered, paid by WKU to the Kerrick Bachert law firm from Nov. 1, 2016 to [March 2, 2018]." On March 29, 2018, WKU provided copies of Henderson’s request, containing redacted information involving expenses paid from attorney billing records, hours worked by its attorneys and other “blanket redactions.” The black sections on the page are the redactions made by WKU in Henderson's initial request.
