The Student Government Association will host a Mental Health Awareness Week as part of a new bill passed on Tuesday.
SGA will host a different event for each day during the week of Nov. 3-7, including a day for students to write positive affirmations in chalk on the sidewalks, and a day where students can write positive messages on sticky notes to give to other students around campus.
The week will culminate in the Flipping the Script event. Flipping the Script will be a two-part panel event where varying faculty members from the WKU Counseling Center and the Student Accessibility Resource Center will answer student-submitted questions. The panel will then flip and allow faculty to ask a group of selected student leaders questions.

Veronica Butler, author of the bill, wants this event to “raise awareness, reduce stigma and create a supportive campus culture.”
A new committee, titled the By-Law Review Committee, swore in three senators. Caden Lucas was sworn in as committee chair, and Jacob Barker and Butler were sworn in as senators for the committee.
Barker also announced that Eifel Pizza and Spencer’s will stay open until 10 p.m. during finals week, instead of the usual 8 p.m.
