Housing and Residence Life hosted Hope on the Hill Wednesday to raise awareness for student resources.
The annual event, took place on Downing Student Union Lawn from 1 to 4 p.m.
“This event does a great job of showing them (students) what resources exist and letting them know they’re not alone, whatever they may be struggling with,” Kirsten Hooks, associate director of first year programs, said.

The event focuses on the 10 dimensions of wellness and making students aware of the resources available to them for each dimension. The 10 dimensions of wellness include spiritual, creative, social, digital, emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, physical and occupational.
The event had tables from many on-campus resources, such as the Center for Financial Success and the Student Government Association, as well as off-campus resources like Abound Credit Union and the Bowling Green Police Department.

Abound Credit Union addressed the financial dimension, and the Police Department showcased the physical dimension of wellness.
“What we’d like to encourage people is to be aware of their surroundings,” Brad Hogue, an instructor at the Bowling Green Law Enforcement Academy, said.
Other activities, such as bracelet making and prizes, were available to encourage students to visit as many areas as possible, including an appearance from Big Red.
