WKU will host clinical psychologist Dr. Tracy Dennis-Tiwary as a speaker for the university’s Wedge Seminar on Tuesday, with a presentation titled “Why anxiety is good for you.”
The presentation will be held in the Eva & Jim Martens Alumni Center Ballroom at 7 p.m. The Wedge Visiting Scholar Presentations recruit various academic scholars to provide “a free evening lecture and all-day workshop for educators and the public,” according to WKU’s website. WKU has hosted Wedge Visiting Scholar Presentations since 2003.
Dennis-Tiwary is an American researcher and author as well as a clinical psychologist and professor of psychology and neuroscience at Hunter College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.
Dennis-Tiwary’s areas of expertise include emotion regulation, anxiety, and the psychological impact of technology. The presentation will be centered around her book titled “Future Tense: Why Anxiety’s Good For You Even Though it Feels Bad.”
